Water Walk
If I put together a cache to go out to the water walk location, would anyone be willing to take it out there?
I can try to get out there over the next few weeks to replace it, but i'm not sure I will for sure. If I archive it, I'm not sure another cache would be permitted out there.

Now would be the time to replace it if you are going to.
I drove across the Grand Rapids bridge today. The water is really low.

According to Google Earth Pro, Howard Island is listed as VRES, which appears to be land that is intended for residential use but is currently vacant.
So good news is that it isn't ODNR property.
It has a Wood County lot number, so finding permission to hide one there in the future may be dubious.

I don't know anything about the walk or the island - have we missed our window of opportunity? How does it get fixed in place? I'd be willing to give it a shot if we get another warmish day.

Re: Water Walk
It's been quite the long time since we made the find, but a search & rescue attempt would need someone who has found it to go along too.
That way when it is ready to be rehidden, someone can say "Ok, turn around and close your eyes...ok...hang on...OK, go find it!".

Re: Water Walk
I might try to get out there tomorrow if possible. Not sure I'll be able to.
Yeah, as best as I can tell the land was bought in 1989 by some guy in Kentucky, but is undeveloped. There are no posted no trespassing signs, and people clearly frequent the island.

Looks like we have a few more nice days - do we have a plan? I'm still willing to go, but my not having found it previously is a valid concern. I'm off work by 4:30 and could be ready to hit the water by 5.

Re: Water Walk
It was 5 years ago (yup, looked it up) when we found it. Could be completely wrong, but seemed it was an ammo can chained to a tree.
With all the DNFing going on, might need another type of hide people may not pooch as often.
