Tod's Last Hide

Post by Handyman-N-Fam »

A little birdie told me that the CO of Tod's Last Hide: A tribute to Tod! plans to archive the cache soon. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in going along with me, in the next couple of weeks, to make an attempt at it. I am very flexible on when I can go. If you are interested, post here, and we can figure out a day that works.

Looks like for us, it would be fairly early Friday the 19th or Sunday the 21st...so far...

There are two others in the park also. I highly recommend Davy Jones Locker - Isle de los Muertos. But best contact the owner to be sure all stages are accessible.

We went the long way to that one earlier this year.
Doubt our geotrail is still there, but we're still pulling burrs from Mina from the find :)

I would be interested in some geo adventures to this neck of the woods. I am always up for some caches that take a while and that people remember because they were good.

This Sunday is the only day I could make it this weekend. We were near there last Thursday, and got one of them in the recreation area (the traditional), but it was too late in the day(read dusk) to go for the other 2 multis. I have a Michigan Parks sticker good through the end of the year, which is needed to park there.

HOWEVER, MICHIGAN DEER GUN SEASON OPENED TODAY. Anybody going up there will need to be decked out in ORANGE

The WaffleStomper Event is Saturday morning, so it just might be a geocaching weekend.

Sunday would be okay with me, so lets plan for Sunday.

Does anyone have a preference for the time of day. I would like for it to be in the morning, but not really any sooner than 9am.

I have at least one spare orange vest that someone can borrow.

Do they hunt on Sunday's in Michigan?

I'm sure we can find an orange t-shirt for Mina!

BTW, Rod has mentioned that if requested, he or one of the youngsters can go along as company.

Once we have a time settled on, we can post it on the cache page.
10 am might be good for if someone has a longer way to come.

Can everyone that is planning on attending please post on here, so we know who will be there.

I will send a message to Rod, and let him know of our plans.

10am sounds good to me. Exactly are we going to meet? The parking area designated in the cache?

I think it would be a good idea to meet somewhere else, and drive to the State park in less vehicles. That would cut down on the fees that we will have to pay to get in.

I'd be up for going on a hunt with you guys. It'd give me a chance to meet/get to know some of you. I should be free all day Sunday.

We could meet either in the park in the center of Morenci, then drive straight north, or Hudson has a couple of parks with plenty of parking.
If most are from Ohio, Morenci may be more workable.

Maybe here?
