2010 Holiday Shindig Food Survey
OPINIONS PLEASE
The Steering Committee is trying to decide if we want a catered meal or pot luck (aka carry-in) this year for our Holiday Shindig.
We are trying to keep the catered meal option down to about $10 per person over 12. One child under 13 would be admitted free for each paid person in a group.
Volunteer cooks from NWOGEO would cook the meal (probably consisting of chicken and/or a meat). There could also be a kids meal option. (Probably hot dogs, beans, potato or macaroni salad)
The admission cost for Pizza/Subs would be a little less, and admission cost for Pot Luck would probably be $5 per person over 12, etc.
For the Pot Luck-ers, we would ask that they bring enough food to at least feed their group.
A portion of any admission costs mentioned would help offset the venue rental and supply costs.
Options "D" and "E" would mean that we would try to find a way to have both. Tickets would probably be used to for those opting to not do Pot Luck.
Considering that we have a growing number of families in our group now, we wanted to give the membership as many options as possible to keep the cost per group reasonable.
Feel free to post your comments in this forum thread.
Survey Options
A - Pot Luck (aka Carry-In)
B - Catered Meal (See text above)
C - Pizza and Subs
D - Catered Meal and Pot Luck Combo
E - Pizza/Subs and Pot Luck Combo
Please vote quickly as this survey will only last a week.

I think potlucks for the holidays is a good choice. If someone does not want to/or does not feel they can prepare something, they can always bring veggies trays, salami and cheese trays, loaf bread with dipping sauce etc. Sometimes it also depends on where you have it.

Potluck for sure. There are so many good choices then. Always enough food even for those who can't bring much. Lots of food.
