Uh, you forgot the Brandy Alexanders and the water snake that almost ate me.

You are right, I cannot forget those. I am going to try and find a recipe for the BA so we can drink those on mainland. MM MMMMMMmmmMMMMMMMmmMMMmmMMMmmMMmmMMmmM Good!BlackBrownDog wrote:Uh, you forgot the Brandy Alexanders and the water snake that almost ate me.

Re: Pie Irons and Smores, a unique camping and caching event
Question: what does a horse, a cow, a duckbill platypus, a pig, a bat, an otter and Ohio State have in common?
Also...
Recipe
Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 oz Brandy
* 1 oz Dark Creme de Cacao
* 1 oz Half-and-half or Heavy cream
* 1/4 tsp grated Nutmeg
Mixing instructions: In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the brandy, creme de cacao, and half-and-half. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the nutmeg.
Alternate recipe
Ingredients:
* 2 jiggers dark creme de cocoa
* 1 jigger brandy
* 1 pt. vanilla ice cream
* 1 c. crushed ice
Mixing instructions: Put all ingredients in blender. Cover and frappe until sherbet consistency. Serve in small brandy snifters with nutmeg sprinkled on top. Yield: 6 (3 oz.) drinks.

I found that recipe on wickepedia also... So, when are we getting together to drink it?

Re: Pie Irons and Smores, a unique camping and caching event
My wife, kids, and I packed up to meet up with the crew at the camp site.
I was totally disappointed with the whole trip. After getting a late start, we got onto the island around 4:30. We opted to not take the truck accross and to rent a cart...(first and biggest mistake of the day.) The last ferry goes back to the main land at 11:30 but for some reason, the cart rentals close at 8:00. Makes no sense to me, since the ferry and the cart rentals are the same company.
We found three caches before heading to the camp site. This was about the only good thing that happened all day.
Once we got to the camp site, there was a sign that said "no golf carts"...This is where the big mitake comes into play.
Prior to leaving my house, I didn't write down the BBDs cell # or camp site #.(This was big maistake #2) When I got to the camp site I asked the park ranger where the Geocaching event was. (This was big mistake #3) He was entirely no help what-so-ever. He gave me one site number which I found out later was Bookisme's site, but he wasn't there. I walked around for a short time before giving up and heading out, the cart had to be back by 8:00.
I guess next year I will be more prepared.
Hope everyone had fun.

I could not make the campout because I could not find my camping chair, come to find out it was there without me (I saw it in all the pics!). Thanks a lot J-Kass-es

I guess we didn't hide the evidence very well.

I know that they say "what happens on the island, stays on the island," but we need to drum up publicity with showing what fun can be had at one of these island events!!!
I'll bet you never new that we had the cameras rolling!!!
