geocoin box

Post by thebutterflyeffect »

Is there some where you can put your activated coins on geocaching in a fake cache or something so i dont have so many coins in my trackable box i make discovery lists for people so they can discover my coins

I had to archive a cache in my front yard, I "keep" mine there.

You can create a cache, and then before it's even reviewed and approved, archive it. Since you are the owner of the cache, you still maintain access to it. But since it was never approved or published no one else can access it.

Yes, TMA has one and I liked the idea, so I have one of my own.

Since I just got home from New Jersey, I missed most of this discussion ;) But, yes, most "geocoiners" and "TB freaks" have an archived cache or unused waypoint (pulled sort of as Hydnckr described, with the exception that it's not really archived, just in limbo) to log trackables in and out of.

So that's where some of those mysterious missing waypoint numbers disappear to!

I may be missing something but I'll ask anyway. What is the point in doing that?

so that you dont have to search through a big list of trackables in your possesion
so all of your owned coins/bugs (you dont want to travel but you do want them discovered) are in a seperate cache that has been archived

So how are they being "discovered" if they are in a fake/archived cache?
