NWOGEO 4th Year CITO/Adopt-A-Highway dates for 2007

Post by GizmoGuy411 »

The NWOGEO Steering Committee has agreed on the following tentative dates for our 4th Year CITO/Adopt-A-Highway dates for 2007:

10 am, Saturday 04/07 [last yr 04/08]
10 am, Saturday 06/09 [last yr 06/10]
08 am, Saturday 08/18 [last yr 08/19]
10 am, Saturday 10/13 [last yr 10/14]

Our initial search found no conflicts with other important events.
However if anyone finds conflicts, please let us know.

This is our 4th consecutive year participating in the Ohio Department of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway Program as a NWOGEO and Groundspeak CITO Event.

We are the proud maintainers of a two mile section of US-24/Anthony Wayne Trail, west of Waterville near Grand Rapids, with a portion of our section bordering Providence Metropark.

Our obligation is to pick up litter four times a year in our adopted highway section. In return, ODOT has posted nice free advertising for us on highway signs, at each end of our adopted section.

The event usually takes very little time, and we often stop somewhere to eat then geocache afterwards.

This is one way of giving back to the community as well as making a good name for our organization.
