Geocaching in the Metroparks

Post by cachergirl27 »

I haven't seen anyone else mention this here, and Scuba reminded me of it recently. I'm posting the MetroParks' blurb on Moonlight Geocaching:

10/16/10 Moonlight Geocache 6:30 PM Oak Openings Preserve

Families make sure to dress warm, bring your GPS units and a flashlight to the park for a night of fun geocaching and discover the Oak Openings after dark. Your adventure ends with a warm fire, smores and some storytelling. A small number of GPS units are available to borrow. Please call 419-708-1451 if you'd like to reserve a GPS unit. Participants who need a GPS training for beginners can register for a free training on October 9 at Oak Openings Lodge. One class will be held at 9 am. You must be registered for the October 16 program to attend the training session.
What they don't mention is there is a $5 fee, but I think it's for a party, not per person.
In the past there has actually been a GC event page, but it doesn't look like it this year. If you want to go without the smiley on gc.com, register!
