Geowoodstock 9

The 2011 GeoWoodstock mega event will be is Pittsfield, PA next July 2. Is there anyone else that may consider going to this event? My personal geocaching goal to attend one of these events.

Myself, Smacky "J", Mac-E-Cheez, Mudbogger11, and MdWalsh19 were talking about attending this very event this weekend at the bash. We are definately considering going. Are we considering a "Mass-Caravan" Mike???????? LOL

As the grand daddy of the mega events, it'll probably draw 5000+ cachers from all over the world.

Compare that to the MWGB which is smaller and has more of a regional focus (though it brings in cacher's from several states, as well as at least 2 Canadian provinces).

My wife and I have attended 2 GeoWoodstock's in recent years and plan to attend next year's event. We enjoy socializing at the event, since it's an opportunity to talk with friends who live far away from us.

I am planning on attending, just trying to decide how roundabout the route is going to be?

It looks real interesting. We went to the Allegheny State Park Geobash V a few months ago, which is fairly close, and it is real nice territory.

Maybe Mrs Grizz and I can make an ATV run at the same time, supposed to be nice trails there in the National Forest.

Depending on how close together this will be to the bash time wise, I would consider the trek.

Woodstock itself is a one day event, but there will be several M&G events that will take place around it.

just got a reply...
Hello,

In response to your log posted for GeoWoodstock IX, The GeoWoodstock event itself is just one day, however , there will be other companion events nearby both the day before and the day after, so it really turns out to be a fun weekend of caching. There will probably be four or five different events in 2 or 3 days, but they can't be published yet. Hope you can make it for all the fun!

If there's other fun stuff going on and some NWOGEO folks are planning on going we'll undoubtedly be there as well!
