Haven't decided to make it a vacation destination, or a long weekend plan.

It takes 8.3 miles. but then I required that all be active.
I wonder how many more will be placed before the event.

Many.
I attended Geowoodstock when it was in the Raleigh Durham area, and other than considering going to Seattle last year, I probably wouldn't go again.
It's not quite like MWGB - the focus at the GW I went to was pretty much cache runs. If you want to go cache, it'll be fun. If you want to socialize with friends, probably not as much.
I suspect you'll see a number of "power trails" designed solely to boost your numbers. You'll also see some pretty amusing things. We cached briefly with one of the higher numbered cachers, and he didn't even look. He'd just team up with someone marvelling over his numbers and let them find it and sign him.
Who knows - maybe I just went to a bad one, but I've heard thats not the case.

Re: Geowoodstock 9
We are camping there!
This year's Geowoodstock was more like a one day caching festival - food tent, vendors, band, poker tent, etc. and about getting the TRIFECTA (HQ, APE, and Original stash). Also as it was combined with the HQ's party the day after, that was another street fair w. activities kind of day. I don't believe there were any organized cache runs like at the one we attended at GW5.

Re: Geowoodstock 9
Lisa and I will be at campsite # 134 from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. The geo-train ride was all booked up, so we are planning to book a regular ride for Saturday afternoon. I picked out 20 must have caches in the area. 4-5 earth caches and 6 of the AGT series for Warren county which nets a free geo coin after getting your county passport stamped at the hides.
The hotel rooms must have booked out really early. Camping wasn't our first choice.

Is anyone else still planning on going to GWS? Our status is still "most likely".
