Now that summer is almost here, this question is much more relevant. Is there an interest from NWOGEO members to do this event again? I would be glad to organize it if there is. I think that all who attended had alot of fun. Just check out the pictures.schwnman99 wrote:Should we try to make this a yearly thing?

Let's do it!
Just don't plan it for the month of July, I'll be unavailable for almost the entire month!
June or August is just fine. Of course Western Lake Erie waters will be tad warmer in August of course.

I would go if I could get on a BIGGER boat or jetski (maybe)!
Re: "Boat Required Picnic" Event - GC1E6YR !
If a boat has 2 extra seats, we would definitely be interested.

Re: "Boat Required Picnic" Event - GC1E6YR !
If things go as before, there was plenty room for the boatless on the power boats.
There were also offers from several people who had extra canoes and kayaks.
Like last year, I will not be offering any transportation in advance, so that I can remain flexible for last second changes, quick shuttle runs, emergency's and play!
Note novahs comments above. I think he quickly knew that I had the fastest craft there, and was able to shuttle back and forth to the peninsula multiple times before our slowest power craft was even able to make the trip one way.
Let's pretty much duplicate our last event with day of week (just skip July), time, launch sites, and food plans. We created 10 pages of posts here making decsions that worked out great.
In addition, let's create at LEAST one rain date, and for foul water conditions. We probably got lucky last year!

I'll start another thread here soon, and move these initial 2009 messages there.

We'd love to attend an event like that, but Mike works most weekends and we don't have a boat as well.

Like last year, I have access to a solo kayak or a canoe (which has room for two more).
Also I would pick August over June since we are moving at the beginning of June.
GG, I think that makes sense to start a new thread.

August will be kind of tricky for me as we will be going to The Outer Banks for a week and I will be Jeeping for another weekend. That eats 3 weekends.

I think I would be interested this year and August would be best. Just don't pick 8-15-09, unless it's in the afternoon. That is the August CITO, and if Lynn doesn't have to work, we would like to host the brunch afterwards.
