What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the Internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache. Please see the attached PDF for more details on what geocaching is and what it is all about.
What is a Flash Mob?

"WWFM" stands for the World Wide Flash Mob event: Dozens of events all around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to geocaching. You've heard of MEGA-EVENTS? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. FLASH MOBS have gathered for other reasons (visit link). Come be part of this historic event !

What is this all about?

This is Cleveland's first time in participating in this very exciting event that will be celebrated all over the world at precisely the same time. The Flash Mob events were born out of a fun idea by Sonny & Sandy of podcacher.com fame. You can read more about the specifics of the event at the forums and statistics on who is participating in this third annual event. We can tell you that as of the date of this email there are 165 events scheduled in 15 countries around the world, 45 US states and 11 Canadian provinces are participating, so this is truly a magnificent event.

This sounds like fun, what do I need to do to have fun too?

All you need to do is to be adventurous enough to join us downtown Saturday for a 15 minute gathering for some fun and participate in this world wide event. There is no cost to attend, just show up in front of the Rock Hall at 12:59 pm - be prompt as this is a flash event, so everything will be happening in rapid fashion. There will be one-of-a-kind mementos being passed out, coin drawings, a flash meal, and a group photo being taken during the 15-minutes - so be sure to be there!!!
