NWOGEO Year 5 Adopt-A-Highway/CITO #1 of 4 in O8'
Saturday 26th, 2008 will be our first NWOGEO Year 5 Adopt-A-Highway/CITO for 2008.
It was originally scheduled for April 5th, but someone forgot to post the event on GC.com.... again.
Given the other events in April, the 26th was the only Satuday that could be scheduled for submission to GC.com.
At least if we are lucky, maybe we won't have any snow!

Re: NWOGEO Year 5 Adopt-A-Highway/CITO #1 of 4 in O8'
Just found out some new requirements that we must satisfy before our event.
1) The application for participation in the Adopt-A-Highway program must now be renewed every two years. Ours is due now.
2) Every four years someone from our group must attend a refresher briefing along with a Meth Lab awareness presentation.
Ours is due now.
3) Children under 12 are expressly NOT allow to participate under any circumstances.
4) A group Release form may need to be signed by each participant at the event. A separate release form for each person under 18 may also need to be signed.
In light of these requirements, I have contacted Hydnckr (who originally brought NWOGEO in this program) to arrange for our permit renewal, and to schedule the meeting with ODOT.
If anyone is interested in attending, please post as such here and we will inform you of the meeting date and time.

If Craig can't make it, or he wants some assistance, I'll do it depending on the date and location. I won't be able to make all the pickup's, and nobody else probably will be able to either, so getting a formed signed each time will be a problem. We may want to consider volunteering some place else.

I'm sorry....Meth Lab awareness presentation???? What on earth does that have to do with cleaning a highway? I love how the govenment throws weird random regulations at you.GizmoGuy411 wrote:

I guess volunteers have been running into disgarded meth lab waste during pick-ups. Given the potential danger of the materials, they want us to recognize them.

Apparently 411 needs to respond to some inquiry from Keystone.

BBD gave me a heads up that he disabled it. Since I do not look at our NWOGEO email account very often, and I had forgot to bookmark the cache, I was not aware of goings on.ScouterJoe wrote:Well it's back. I guess we get to have our event.
Yep... I made the mistake of mentioning Home Depot and Harbor Freight as places to get "grabbers".
He also mentioned that we can no longer advertise NWOGEO Geocoins in the future.

Don't mention the grabbers from Anderson's either.

I suppose that made it a commercial cache? Are they going to tell the geobash that they can't sell a coin?
