SQ archived...

Post by SuchaNana »

Keystone archived Ohio Spirit Quest #23: A River Runs Through It ..........Friday, 27 July 2012Ohio
I am archiving this listing at the cemetery staff's request. Owner, the land manager also said yesterday in their email to Groundspeak that "I want this object removed from our cemetery." Please honor this request at your earliest opportunity.

Apparently geocachers were seen looking for the cache while a burial ceremony was taking place.

Some people just have no understanding that a cache may not need to be hunted right now.

Not sure how old this cache was.

I have seen a lot of older caches archived due to the acts of others.

I read this the other day when it was first posted. Frustrating. When I pull up to a cemetery to hunt for a cache if I notice more than one other person in there I usually don't hunt it at that moment. If I see a funeral occurring I don't attempt it at that time! It's going to take the actions of a few to ruin cemetery caches for all of us.

This very true! We need to pass the word along to every cacher we know!

One of the cachers who were there that day posted a note saying that no services were going on at the time, but that there were mowers very close.

I still wouldn't have done it if they could have seen what I was doing. Its just a respect thing.

Not this cache but at another, there was a dad and two daughters just walking around a cemetery looking and talking. I passed on the cache because they looked like they were discussing things. Again respect for others.

I agree with Mo... Anytime I see a funeral in a cemetery, it's an immediate pass. If there are others even somewhat nearby(including grass cutters), it's a pass. Anything that does not look right, it's a pass. There are lots of other caches down the road....

It is a shame when the stupid actions of one affect everyone else.
