In honor of Mina's birthday today, another cache has been hidden along the WCT.
However, while going out to hide it, we were tailed by a guy in bright-orange hunting gear for about .3 miles.
He was walking about 200 ft behind us, but was trying to act like he wasn't there.
We stopped a couple of times, then he would stop.
It was quite comical, if it didn't piss us off.
At some point, he finally turned around and went back. Think he was from a local business.
We all know the WCT does not allow hunting, and we were guessing him and/or his bosses probably own a deerstand or some other set-up along the way, and thought we were going to, I don't know, steal the deer in the area or something.
Don't know what they think a guy and his dog and a backpack were going to do out there.
Anyway, for safety sake, we are thinking it may be best to put in for publication after this Sunday.
That way maybe no one else will be tailed by the locals (or worse), or sneak along and steal the container.
Cheezes us off, on many levels, but safety first.

Maybe Pax and I should not only wear orange, carry a GPSr, AND carry a "hunting" rifle. I think I can probably scare up an AR-15 with laser sights, bipod, accessory rails and a "3" round hunting legal magazine.

Mina thinks we should ask Santa for a machete.
Good for bushwhacking, and scaring off anything or anyone we need to.
Grrrr!
The Cannonball Trail is just too big to manage.
Keeping hunters and 4-wheelers off it is just too big of job to control.

I was almost run down by a motorbike on the trail the other day. Fortunately for the special people they don't need to follow rules.

Solution is easy and law enforcement can't do anything unless they are notified. (1-800-POACHER) or http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Home/wild_re ... fault.aspx

Didn't know of that either.
Does that count for ATVs too?
Probably not.
