Personally, I don't plan on caching that way. I may not sign every log, but I plan on being present when the log is signed. I like the idea of 2 groups parking a car at each end, and exchanging keys in the middle.GrizzFlyer wrote:4 people could do this trail in about 3 hours or so. Split it up into four sections, drop one person off, go to the beginning of the next section, drop off #2, go to beginning of section 3 and drop off #3 (with a spare set of car keys), go to start of section 4 and park the car. Fourth person does section 4. #3 gets done, gets car, picks up #4. They go back and pick up #2 and then #1.
The biggest problem I see with that is resolving the question about signing logs and logging finds. I know many teams do things this way, using a team name for the day, split up, and all logs get signed with that name. Its the only possible way these teams can get 100's of caches a day. One person finds the cache and all get credit for all the finds. Somehow I just have difficulty with that concept.
Is that allowed under the "rules"?? What's everybodys opinion?

I agree. But break it up into a couple smaller pieces at a time.Handyman-N-Fam wrote:Personally, I don't plan on caching that way. I may not sign every log, but I plan on being present when the log is signed. I like the idea of 2 groups parking a car at each end, and exchanging keys in the middle.

Rules? LAST I heard there are no rules. That said I agree with cheech. All people should be present when the log is signed. On the trail 10 miles away doesn't constitute as present.

Scuba & I have a rule that you must be present (within eye sight) for it to count. So, if I'm on one end of the 10 mile trail, and he's on the other.....it don't count. We both like to be present & searching for the cache. Otherwise, what's the point????

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. It just didn't seem right that credit be claimed if the claimer wasn't there at the cache. Glad everybody else feels that way.

methinks i do stretch those "guideline rules" a skosh -especially with retrieval difficulties... under the geo-exclusionary rule #47b2f8d2 disabilities act, 'tis allowed as i always wear the geo-approved proper shade of lipstick ...as long as i'm still having geo adventures and fun, the lipstick smiles stay...

Has anyone done the ODS - Outer Drive Series around Detroit. There look to be about 192 caches in the series. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture but you will get the idea.

It looks like a divided sterrt. Have to do some going one way then the others coming back.styx wrote:Has anyone done the ODS - Outer Drive Series around Detroit. There look to be about 192 caches in the series. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture but you will get the idea.

For the uninitiated (that would be me) - how long does it take to get a passport?

When he was a kid, Mr. TM rode his bike all over the eastern portions of this trail.T-Hunter wrote:It looks like a divided sterrt. Wouldn't recommend it as much now.
