HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR A CACHE?
during recent back east vacation, attended an old fashioned Chesapeake Bay Clambake in VA...daughter-in-law's brother is a propulsion
engineer working under the Navy umbrella for satellite programs...after discussing last weeks' newest launch & latest trackings with uploads to
properly adjust coords for the orbit, our conversation drifted to the new 100 year starship endeavor...
knowing my geocaching penchant, he concurred the probabilities are that someone will attempt to get a cache placed... the link will aid in your quest...
https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity ... e&_cview=0
would you rather place the cache or be on the team to claim the smiley? we figured a multi-generational team would consist of perhaps hints left
to the unborn generations on the retrieval processes...of course, money would not be an obstacle...
now, taking it a bit further, geo-discussing the possibility of who in NWOGEO has had dreams/visions/fantasies about the
"ultimate" cache placement? what form did yours take?' globally i'd say the world's our oyster and the cache is our pearl...
it begs the question - just HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR A CACHE ?

I would go all the way to Toledo for a cache. Maybe East Toledo if it was a good one.

We're not one's to wander too far from where we are "now". Yesterday, we took a ~100 mile detour down to South Carolina to find 2 caches. It was a beautiful day and the leaves on the trees were quite colorful. It would have been quicker to head back to Ohio from North Carolina, but we decided we'd add another state to the caching map. We're glad we did!

We'll be doing close to 1000 mile round trip this weekend, just to add 1 more state and do a couple unique benchmarks. That is not the norm, however.

Hmmm, well, we took off on a friday night to drive to Nashville to earn the GPS exhibits icon. Of course, the exhibit will be in Dayton next summer, but we didn't want to wait. And then we drove to Colorado for a power trail that we never got around to doing.
However, we have heard that the last remaining Ape Cache is in Brazil...so the answer is yet to be known

We drove while vacationing in Bowling Green KY, all the way to Memphis just to find the oldest cache in Tennesee.
But then this spring we went from the middle on New York State to New Hampshire to find an annisarich traditional.
So, somewhere in there.

Re: HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR A CACHE?
I know, the question was how far WOULD I go? But this is how far I DID go as the crow flies:
Furthest cache found: 6588.57 Miles, "Furthest Southern Cache" GCB0D5

Lets see... went to Indianopolis for a "9" for the alphanumeric. Just returned from a "conference" in San Antonio and spent the first 3 days filling in Jasmer dates which included a drive to Austin and points many miles to the northeast.... and then (and only then) did I go see the Alamo and the Riverwalk.
