Waymarking gets Pocket Queries...well sorta

Post by armygreenx »

There is a new feature on waymarking.com called Scavenger Hunts that allows you to create a private or public scavenger hunt by specifying a search radius as well as an amount of waymarks to do during the hunt. You can also filter out waymarks that you have already done and it will also ignore categories you specify in your profile.

To me this seems like another way of doing pocket queries as long as you don't make the scavenger hunt public. Anyone else get the same impression or am i misunderstanding it? It sounds like when you create one that you will get a .gpx file containing all of waymarks as soon as the time for the scavenger hunt has been reached.

This also opens up possibilities for new geocaching event types that people can host but it will probably mostly be used for personal use.
