Power of the Processor Series

Post by armygreenx »

Please do not use this thread to flame about micros or puzzles.

With that being said as some of you have noticed I am working on a series of puzzle caches and 3 of them have been placed with probably 20-25 more to go.

At first these caches will only be found by a few people and that is why they are micros. However, after these caches have been out for about a month or so they will become extremely trivial via mega hints that are placed in multi and traditional caches opening them up to non puzzle solvers.

Also in the works is a series of challenge caches to go along with the series. To qualify for these challenges you will have to have completed a combined difficulty rating of 'X' (will be different for each challenge). For instance the first challenge cache will require you completed 6 difficulty worth of Power of the Processor puzzle caches (6 is the max at the moment).

Finds recorded after the mega hints have been released will only receive half difficulty rating credit towards the challenge caches. For example, Power of the Processor 2 is worth 2 stars of difficulty. If you complete this puzzle cache AFTER the mega hint is released for this cache you will only accumulate 1 star worth of difficulty rating towards the challenges.

Official scores will be released along side the challenge caches when they are published so you can see if you qualify.

One final thing. You do not have to 'find' the puzzle cache to get credit for solving it before the mega hints are released but you do have to actually find the container to get credit for the challenges. For instance if you solve the cache a week before the mega hint is released (and send me the coordinates) but don't go sign the log for a couple months you will still get the full difficulty rating credit when you do finally come sign the logbook.

Although these puzzles will most likely all be small or micro containers the challenge caches will not be.
