I agree that some can be VERY frustrating. If the difficulty level is set high enough, then that it just that kind of cache. Some people like guardrail caches, others like level 5 puzzle caches. To each their own. Personally I like both. It just depends on my mood and time available.
So I tend to agree more with the hider who archived his cache once people started giving away spoilers. The cache was indeed "spoiled" by those cheating to claim another smiley.
We have a new cache in Toledo that just popped up that may well fit the description you mentioned!
