2008 Major Events Venues...

Looks like my begging is paying off. My thoughts...get a date reserved ASAP! Also, since the Riverbend area has heat, that would be a good choice for next Christmas. However, we may wish to use it in the spring, since it's a sure thing. That Riverbend area sure would be nice to hide a lot of close winter caches...

Let me know what you think!
For that size group, we would be able to offer you free use of a large shelter at Riverbend Recreation Area or the Activity Barn at Litzenberg Memorial Woods. Unfortunately, the barn is not heated, so I don’t know if that would work for you in the winter. Just let me know if you want to take us up on this offer, and I can get a facility reserved for you.

Normally around 100, a lot depends on if we get preregistration (we do this if they are catered winter events, so people don't blow them off if the weather is bad) and on the weather for caching! Thanks so much for looking into this for us.

That sounds great, Jen. I am looking into the possibility of complimentary rentals for your group. How many people attend these socials?

Do you have pics or more info on River Bend?

Do they mean "the lodge" at Riverbend or just a shelter house?

I'd assume it's Shelter #3, but I'll ask.

HCP Website

IMHO, anyone who helped plan the Winter Event is free to respond to this as well...I figured that you could see this and purposefully put this thread here.

Only capacity for 45? That barely even works for some of our Meet & Eats! How would that work for either our spring or holiday events?

I did tell her 100 people. I doubt that is the shelter she had in mind. I'd guess she meant the waterfalls pavilion or the lodge.

Waterfall pavilion is open and will be beautiful for a spring event but not for a winter event. If we want the lodge maybe we can get a discounted rate if we can't get it for free.

FACT: Spring event time is 4 months away

Since we have a lead to get the barn again (or possibly the waterfalls pavillion), should we voice this now? I know of no other leads for the venues, and that will give the group time to look for Holiday Shindig venue. Let me know what you think.

What do we want to do. Once we decide the basics, we can request to enlist more help as needed, once we have the framework down.

If you can read this, respond to it.

To get things done, should I tell Stacie that we'd like Litz barn for a Saturday in early May?
