Another bomb squad called out -in UK

Post by GrizzFlyer »

Bomb Scare

They didn't blow it up, but they did call out the robot.

About 13 seconds of advertising video before the real thing starts.

And yet people continue to place caches in high muggle areas.

And the people that do place them in high muggle areas defend the practice and "stealth required"

And when you sign the log you show your approval of the cache.

I agree with BB. I don't care much for caches which require me to feel uncomfortable looking around like a doufus in a public area however I also like to clean out my radius and so i do them anyways. I don't think I have a right to complain about these types of caches since I am willing to put my name on the log.

And so they will continue...

What if somebody hid a magnetic micro on a guardrail and nobody came?

Depends. They might miss a great spot to see the sunset or the smell of the grease dumpster behind a restaurant.

The problem I have with "Stealth Required" caches is that if I look around to see if anyone is looking, that tends to make me look suspicious. So I determine a good time to get out of my car and look. If someone asks what I am doing, I am truthful and explain Geocaching. If someone sees me and muggles the cache . TBSS

Yep, agree with MM. Requires stealth? Too bad, I just go grab it, don't conceal the fact I'm signing something, and no longer look around to see who's looking. Put it back and leave. Just trying to appear that I belong there, as best as that can be done, seems to be an effective way to get the job done. Sneaking up on a cache, twisting the head around to see who might be looking at you, concealing what you found and what you are doing with it, then placing a container onto something, just looks suspicious.

geez... like - some advance thinking required before grabbing "Stealth Required" caches ?

with smartphone caching, newbies need help in the field- i do with SR alerts on my cache pages...
like GF and MM, i too plan ahead as i show up but sometimes the direct approach is the best...

 wanna see stealth in action, watch a cache be found after a meet n greet !!
