"ICONS" to represent NWO!

Post by BlackBrownDog »

Please help the Steering Committee answer this question:

WHAT ARE THE ICONS of NORTHWEST Ohio?

Each of the "sub-regions" of our NW area have unique features. For example, if one were to pick an "ICON" of where we live, Ottawa Co, I'd have to list Perry's Monument and the Marblehead Lighthouse. For Toledo, I think of the skyline view from the riverfront, or in the future, of the new I-280 river crossing. Include links to pictures of you wish.

Where are YOU from, and what are the ICONS of your little part of NWO?!?!?!?

These answers may be incorporated into future designs...of NWOGEO merchandise!

Well usually I think of Lima as: "Lima, not your average bean town." Hence our City's mascot Beanie.

There is also the canon and the bell. I'll see if I can get pictures. Nothing too special here.

I would think that Tell Taylor or Fort Findlay would be better for Findlay. Fort Findlay would be my first choice.

Dubbin, you got some pictures to post, or did your avatar's boobs get in the way? :)

I don't know too much about either of those...

There are local monuments that could be considered icons. The ones bbd listed as well as Fort Meigs, Historic buildings (Genoa Town hall for example), recognizable statues, and tourist attractions are all great icons.

I know this sounds boring to be on a coin, but instead of icons what about a listing of the places in text on the back? Maumee River Crossing, Black Swamp Region, NWOGEO.org,...
