Re: NWOGEO Coin
On a recent trip to Turkey, I bought several souvenir coins varying from sports teams to Harley-Davidson. They have stores with hundreds of designs. In fact, our unit had our own made. I believe it was pretty inexpensive per coin. Each person got one and the rest are for sale for $3.00. So I'm guessing they weren't very expensive. Of course they aren't/wouldn't be trackable at GC.com.
Looks like The Geo Coin Store.com can have them made from rough draft to finished product in about 25 days. Not sure on price though.

I'd just like to have a NWOGEO coin for my small collection.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
From my point of view, the problem is that nobody wants to take the lead.thebutterflyeffect wrote:what happened to making this coin????
It would involve some time and effort and maybe fronting some money. I'm doing the shirts, so I ain't doing it. This doesn't have to be done by members of the steering committee. We do most of the leg work for events, computer and web stuff, geoclasses, meeting with park officials, other merchandise etc. There are also some dedicated others who always help us out.
With some 260 other members one of you could take the lead on the coins. Post a forum, get some input and design ideas, get some prices, make the design decision and see if you can get enough orders to make it work. I'm sure Jason or Gizmo, or GC Maruader would set you up a forum topic like Gizmo did for my shirts.

Cool! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Re: NWOGEO Coin
I'd be interested in some NWOGEO geocoins. Placing them in caches in NW Ohio and areas not so close to here would be neat for new geocachers.
Re: NWOGEO Coin
I'm working on it. Getting quotes and whatnot.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
Normally when cache clubs such as MiGO have a coin, patch, etc, entries are submitted to the steering committee and voted on...just an idea!
Re: NWOGEO Coin
Yea, right now I'm just trying to get a quote. The place, idr, same as NEO's coin maker. The quota person was on vacation and she said she would get back with me in 2-3 days. So if you guys have any graphics ability (I'm sure you do) post your coin design here. It's the 1.5 inch coin. Also does NWOG have a slogan, If not I think Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of caches, or something like that would be cool.
Cheers
P.S. This is to get your brains ticking.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
Before you post any prices,{ I know this is probably a ways off}, please contact the Steering Committee. If this is to be an NWOGEO coin, we try to keep prices down, but make a few bucks for our event fund. Anything that we sell is used as a fund raiser for our events. No one makes any money, we just cover our enpenses. The events, like the spring picnic and Christmas party, can get pretty expensive, and we don't generate enough at the door to cover expenses. I'm glad to see someone get the ball rolling. Perhaps we can help with the initial cost after the shirt sales are done. Thanks.stepshep wrote:I'm working on it. Getting quotes and whatnot.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
Actually there was some work being done at the geobash. Regardless of the things, I'd like to order it from Rusty in MI...keep it local with the ordering, even though all the things are minted in China.
