Changes to the lead post of this thread:

1) Just now added this:
GizmoGuy411 wrote: 10) The "Garmin Communicator Plugin" for Internet Explorer 6+ or Firefox 1.5+, allows websites such as Geocaching.com (ie: Send To GPS) and other web based applications to directly communicate with your GPS unit.
2) Just now updated the Roll Call with TheBearclaws, and recently added WinChester2.0.

3) Added a count for the models in the Roll Call.

4) Recently updated the post to mention the POI Loader that 2trux informed us of.

WARNING to 60Cx and 60CSx owners!

Be careful your memory chip is properly aligned in it's socket before turning on your unit!

I've just burned a spot in the translucent coating on the back of the LCD panel from the backlight.

Apparently the misaligned chip caused the backlight to burn too bright.

When I powered on the unit, all I could see was an orange glow in the lower center of the screen. Once I corrected the alignment of the chip the GPS unit powered up ok, however it had a clear spot where it had glowed, when the backlight was lit.

Although it is over a year old, Garmin has thankfully agreed to accept it as a warranty repair, and to expedite the repair to be within 5 days.

76Cs and 76CSx owners should not have this problem, as their memory chip holder is designed differently, and should prevent any misalignments.

I finally ordered a 60CX. My Etrex Legend is on the second roll of duct tape and I'm out of WD-40 ,and I'm tired of losing satelites as soon as it senses a tree within 100 yards.

But you forgot about the feature that causes it to self destruct if you do not activate it within 72 hrs of shipping! Don't delay too long!

I've discovered a glitch, please help me verify if it is just my GPS.

I found about 30 caches in a day and marked them as found and sent to the calendar. (You can do the same by downloading a PQ and just populate a calendar page with at least 15 caches by doing a bunch of bogus finds)

I then was going to use the calendar to remind me of the caches that I found, and delete them from the calendar as I log them.

If I delete one there is no problem,. However if I scroll UP at least one page (what I figured was quicker way to get to the oldest cache) and try to delete one from that page the unit powers down each time I try do delete a cache.. It doesn't happen if I scroll DOWN at least one page and try to delete one.

This will probably take further explanation. Garmin couldn't duplicate the problem over the phone but will let me send it back for replacement. I don't want to bother with that hassle if this is a software problem that shows up on everybody's GPS.

You discovered an undocumented feature!

Seriously however..... what software versions in in the unit?

I don't remember if the software will let you reload an existing version or not, but I would try to do so.

When I get a chance I'll try to dup the process and see what happens.

I've reloaded the existing version twice (yes you can) at Garmin's recommendation to no avail.

Loaded the entire City Navigator v8.o onto a 2 gig card today. I still had one DNF out of 14, what gives???

Also I got my GPSr about a week early, there is now a Garmin $50 rebate for the 60Cx and CSx from 28 Jul through 31 Dec.

I've now noticed that it powers down after you've populated a calendar page with more than one screen full of caches and scroll either up or down to another page of FOUND caches and delete one of them. Would somebody please try this. Thanks!

I was unable to duplicate the powering down error with our unit. I had never used the calendar before your e-mail and it was a good thing to use when the misses hit delete all records in the "found" database of cachemate instead of record count. Doh!

I could not duplicate the problem either. However I may have followed your instructions wrong. I need to re-read your post and try again, as I had never used that feature either.
