Gander Mountain didn't come through Thursday.

I did find the Lake Powell Electronics site, with the $60 gift certificates for Best Buy, Circuit City, and the like.

Gander has my number. If I don't hear from them by Saturday, I'll probably contact Lake Powell.

We'll have to test them inside a "Big Box" store between metal shelving!

Woops! I just accidentily deleted the other topic in the General forum regarding jsslagle getting the 60 CSx. My BAD!

My Garmin GPSMap 60CSx with firmware version 2.60 now works fine sending real time data to several programs:

- NetStumbler in conjuction with the great GpsGate program.
- Garmin's free nRoute program
- Gotta try Google Earyh Pro yet!

That won't work - it uses gpsbabel.

Now, it'd be nice if google would pony up some dev money for robert to add it.

I'm using my 60CSx with lots of different software. Just get a serial cable and it acts like any old Garmin unit. It isn't that slow for anything other than transfering maps, for that use the USB.

Well I was still using a Legend, or not really since I hadn't used it to find a cache in quite a while. I just followed someone with a good GPS. :)

I hit a few caches on the way home just to give it a little test run, and placed a new cache.

I thought about getting a serial cable for use with my old laptop. However since most laptops no longer have serial, I figured try to do everything with USB. Glad it works now!

Welcome to the 60CSx club! Should we allow 60Cx to join? :)

BTW... if you ever want to see the temperature and other interesting data, hold down your ENTER key WHILE power up the GPS. You will see the test mode screen.

Version 2.60 of the CSx firmware was just released. Not sure what it fixes yet though. Just FYI...

I left a message last week about the update here. Now I can't find it. I probably erased it by accident.

With Version 2.50, we couldn't use any programs that required a real time data stream.

With Version 2.60, we can now use GpsGate, nRoute, Netstumbler, and other programs requiring real time data.

I suppise this was the fix that Garmin described with, "* Improve compatibility with nRoute PC application."
