Rookie Garmin GPS60 question

Post by cheechgang »

I know I asked this a couple years ago somewhere and got a satisfactory answer, but now need the answer again. What is this circle on the screen used for?

Read the last paragraph in the Garmin section about the direction of travel. Now what exactly does it represent?

Like Mr. Bearclaws said, it's called a "heading bug" and it indicates your direction of travel.
Seems to me that you would have to hike for a couple days straight before you would notice
any change on the screen.
I think it's used more on Garmin's aviation gps units. Why it's on the 60 CSx is a mystery.
