New Garmins on they're website

Post by 3olivos »

The new Oregons are on the web site now. Very nice! I've been wondering when they would get around to touch screens. I think I would love one of these but man the stinkin' price tag. click here to see the oregon 400

Guess I'll have to wait until the prices come down a bit(and they will...). Looks like the next generation of GPSrs is here!

Looks like Garmin is catching up with Magellan. The tritons have been out for a while now.

I've read nothing but bad about the Tritons . But I did think the built in flashlight and camera are cool 8)

Yep, have the Colorado. Other than a few minor details I love it. HOpefully a few of those items are taken care of in the next firmware release.

Shawn, I read where firmware v2.60 was just released (yesterday?). Looks like the added some enhancements, as well as fixed a number of issues.

I don't have a Colorado - just know some folks up in Ontario that have them.

Yeah. Downloaded the firmware update on Fri. evening. Still not totally impressed, although a couple of the items I've been worried about have been fixed. There are numerous items that should be attended too which they have with the Oregon. Hopefully they will release fixes to these problems in short order.

As for the Whereigo player, they need to seriously upgrade this thing. If none of you have used this player, they do not incorporate the compass or maps into the player. All they give you is a directional arrow, which is VERY hard to see...especially while driving.

For those that are wanting to check up on both the Colorado and Oregon units, visit http://garmincolorado.wikispaces.com/ Some very detailed information found here.
