Toledo Area WiFi Public Hotspots

Post by NWOGEO »

WiFiToledo.com

Toledo Metro and Surrounding Areas Public WiFi Hotspot List.

[hr]

Public WiFi in our area reached a milestone last month by the number of free locations outnumbering the fee based locations.

At last count the list showed 270 locations with 162 of them wirh free access.

When using WiFi for your laptop, GPS, PDA or SmartPhone, remember that most hotspots are offering free acess only for their customers.

We don't want to hear about any geocaches being charged with theft of services because they sat in the parking lot to look up geocaches!

Internet hot spots
Bowling Green has established a series of wireless Internet "hot spots" at city-owned facitlities and dubbed the system the Bowling Green FreeNet.
The "hot spots" are:
Â¥ City Park
Â¥ Carter Park (the western most bleachers at the softball fiels and shelters near the playgropund)
Â¥ Dunbridge Road soccer fields behind the BG Municipal Court
Â¥ Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave.
Â¥ Wintergarden/St. John's Nature Preserve (in Rotary Nature Center and near the building)
Â¥ Community Center (lobby and classroom A)
Â¥ City Council Chamber
Â¥ BG Municipal Court lobby
Assistant Municipal Administrator Lori Tretter told city council Monday night the hot spots provide the opportunity for businesses and organizations using rental facilities to access the Internet at the same time.
She said the network was installed by the city's Information Technology Division under the direction of David McDonald, the city's network administrator.
