TeleFlip for phone notifications from GC!

Post by GizmoGuy411 »

- Do you have a cell phone service that only allows you to get 160 character or less text messages? (Some services like Altel will automatically send multiple txt msgs when the msg too long.)

- Would you like to see the entire notification from Geocaching.com so you can get to those new caches even faster?

Then check out this FREE service from http://TeleFlip.com that takes those long emails and breaks them up into multiple shorter messages to be sent to your cell phone as a text message.

Before I upgraded to a cell phone and service that would allow me to get full sized emails, I used this great service for a while.

The average email from GC for new cache notifications was broke up into 5 text messages, so be sure you have a txt msg plan that won't break your wallet!

Also don't forget to change the notification email address at GC to go to TeleFlip!

Can you get your notifications sent to your cell phone? If so, how?

Yes that is exactly what this service is for. Instead of having Geocaching.com send notifications directly to your cell phone, you have them sent to TeleFlip. Then TeleFlip breaks the message in to smaller segments and sends them as SMS Msgs (Text Messages) to your cell phone.

You only need to give them your normal email address, and your phone number. They will determine your SMS address automatically.

Note however that you must be a Premium Member of Geocaching.com to use the notifcation feature.
