Garmin vs. GSAK vs. Windows Vista.

I am using windows vista, and I am not able to send waypoints from GSAK to my Garmin GPS. Can someone help me out? I don't want to revert to manually entering coords!

You're kidding a windows incompatability with the new operating system??? No way.

Have you sent an e-mail to Clyde at gsak.net? Or try the forums at GSAK.... Here is one thread, it states help files in winhelp format are incompatable with Vista, this includes gsak version 6, but there is a fix..here is the thread

Did you upgrade to Vista or is this a fresh install?

When Vista came out it was advised not to install GSAK in C:Program Files . . . but to install in a non OS folder like C:GSAK not sure if that is causing it not to communicate with GPSr or not.

You have a USB to Serial adapter right?

I have to buy a new laptop. The only company that will do XP is dell. I had nothing but trouble from my last dell. I don't know what to do.

I checked tigerdirect.com. Look under "Laptops/Notebooks," then "XP Pro Laptops." There were 35 hits.

I didn't look at them closely. Some of them are refurbs. It's just a thought.
