Re: Freeze 'Em Off

We were in Loiusville, KY yesterday and the temp was in the 50's, but windy. We found the oldest cache in KY and 7 more, plus the Event. It was great to get out.

Re: Planes, Trains and GPS's

I did it on a plane trip to Charlotte, NC awhile back and on the Amtrack to Chicago. The train got up to 90 mph once in central Indiana. We did take it on the Washington DC Metro and the top speed was 80, but not for long before our next stop.

Thanks to our northwest Ohio neighbors who extended their hands to our two groups in southwest Ohio. We had a great time meeting you all.

I'm sure some were held back for the MWGB, considering it is a Mega Event.l

Re: Where would YOUR average cache be?

I haven't done the math yet, but since we have found caches in almost 20 states and have found large numbers south and east; therefore, I think our point may be near north of Hazard, KY.

Re: MWGB • Midwest GeoBash 2007, July 20-22

We will be there for sure. We will be bringing a duck to the Southern Indiana Event in February to promote the GeoBash. I hate to say it, but Geo Woodstock was a neat experience for us, but it was a one time Event, unless it will be very close. The MWGB has been the Best large Event we have ever att...

Re: Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007

I just checked out the 2007 version online. The normal cost is $129. I hope our Best Buy still has them on sale. MJ uses Streets & Trips all the time at work.

Re: What caches do I NEED to do?

The awesome caches I've done have been Pewter Z's Hill in southern Oho and Captain McHarry's Vault in southern Indiana near Louisville overlooking the Ohio River.
Both of them are worth the trip.

Re: activation codes

It depends on where you got them. Some are gc.com activated with a code and others are done through other websites, depending on where the coin was "minted".

If you own the coin, grab it back and see if anyone discovers it.

Re: Missed Opportunity

I was in Dallas last weekend and had 50 caches mapped out within 3 miles of our hotel. The two inexpensive shuttles which ran out of the hotel were nowhere close to accessible-by-foot caches. It would take an arm and a leg to pay for a taxi. I was at the Hyatt Regency at DFW Airport which was surrou...

Re: Garmin Foretrex 101

MJ uses the Fortrex at times. The compass responds very qiuickly. It runs on 2 aaa batteries and can be downloaded with 500 waypoints.
