I <3 geocaching, copy with pride?

Hi any thoughts about having event like this http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4XMHV_i-geocaching ? I really don't get the idea of lab caches -> one hide - one find ->archive. Event makes it sound like fun, otherwise newbies and loners are left out entirely. Or is it just me? What did I miss? :) ...

Thanks cachergirl27 for the explanation. Next question: what maps are you using? I usually use OSM when I am abroad and it works fine in cities. Today I really missed proper map when I spent the day in Oak Openings park. I didn't have any trails and sometimes I was just guessing which trail to take....
