Re: geocache mention in "backpacker" magazine
well...yeah...there is that (gc's about backpackers)....but i guess i meant that it was a little disheartening to hear that kind of response, given how closely related both activities are, and our hobby was INVENTED by hikers/backpackers.....maybe i should write a letter to the editor and point out ...

geocache mention in "backpacker" magazine
i'm a subscriber to "backpacker magazine", and there was a write in question in the small editorial section (pg. 52, April issue). the question was (paraphrasing) what's with geocaching, yea or nay. the editor's response wasn't exactly flattering. they compared us to paintball games and su...

NWOGEO I.D.
i had a thought at lunch today, after having a discussion with a co-worker about how some people/rangers/etc. become concerned when seeing one, or more of us "slinking" around parks/woods. what if NWOGEO's had an I.D. card....one of us, who has the knowledge and software, maybe could make ...

Re: Caching policies and legislation
i agree with saxondog...we need to be aware of legislation that effects our hobby. and although this legislation is way down in south carolina, keep in mind that many state laws (including in ohio) are created by listing another state's law as a precedent (all the smoking bans came from calif. laws)...

Re: Forest Managment and Caching
that's a pretty cool article. it seems mostly positive toward our game. hopefully the various agencies will get to understand that geocaching generally isnt a "high impact" activity, any more than backpacking or hiking is, and ease up on some of the restrictions in some places.

Re: A Pic from a Geo-trip
Yogi....how did you change the pic size in Paint? I see, under "image/attributes" that the pic size can be changed, but when i do that, half the pic disappears. I'd like to know how your doing this, so i can do it to the rest of my pics, so they will fit here.
