Isotelus Caches

I should have made a better effort to pick up some of these caches. I don't have my pocket Queries update until Friday, in the mean time I was planning my Saturday route. What do I find, but half a dozen recently archived caches. Does this mean there there are newer, better caches coming? Very Happy

umm, I dunno, I'd bet no.

I have a feeling that something's brewing in Isotelus land....but I doubt it's new caches on gc.com

Isotelus is not happy with the TMP guidelines and is voicing his displeasure with actions. (does that make sense? It's
4am who cares). I don't blame him for sticking to his principles. I missed finding may of his in the parks, but I hope he hides new ones someplace else in the area. I think you can look for others to start the archival process.

Sorry to see the Isotelus caches gone, as the ones I've done have been really great Cool

. Guess I will have to make a strong effort to get the MetroPark caches done soon before they all disappear. That's sad, because I'll have to do quick cache and gos to get them all, which means I won't be able to take time to enjoy the areas Crying or Very sad

. And living in Findlay, I won't get alot of chances to make it back to most of these areas. It seems like a loss to the Metroparks and to geocachers both Crying or Very sad

All the TMP caches will not disappear, but there will be many fewer than there are now. I'll leave it to others to expound on this further...

Give SQ-Star Trek and possibly It Ain't Kentucky Bluegrass, both at Sidecut a try. I'm away for a few weeks and couldn't remove them even if I had an inkling to.
When I see Isotelus I'll wring his neck and shake some sense into him Laughing

SQ-Star Trek is not under TMP gudielines, however Bluegrass is. I would not worry about Bluegrass though, since it is a "showcase" cache, and TMP is likely to keep ones that show off unusal areas of the parks. Rolling Eyes

And yes, it is a shame the Isotollah caches have been blown away. They were always and will always remain my favorites. I wish the ones outside TMP land had been given a bit more thought before archiving. Crying or Very sad

Would it be possible for those of you that are going to be removing caches to give the rest of us a heads up before hand? I would like the opportunity to grab a few of these before their gone.

The Metroparks are in the process of finalizing a policy on caching - it's got some things in it that make many people unhappy, and that we're working with them to get adjusted. That being said, we must follow their rules as they give them to us. They've not released the final copy to the public or us yet, and I suspect you might see one or two changes before they do based on our feedback at a meeting we had with them.

I believe most of the people archiving now are doing so more out of principle then the fact they've been told to, as we've got a date set to have the metroparks caches all following the guidelines, and it's months away.

When I get a few, I'll post a topic here outlining some of the important policy notes we've been given by them, but don't shoot the messenger.

Sorry to see the Isotelus caches go away. They were some of my favorite although frustrating caches that I've found. I see BB is starting to pull some of his also. Thank you both much for the opportunity to hunt your caches in the parks. Glad I had a chance to find them.

Alright. I see I need to adjust my route for Saturday. Can someone give me a hint as too which ones I need to focus on for this weekend. I haven't been to Oak Woods was hopeing to wait for wild flower season. I don't care about why or who is pulling caches, I just want to hit some of the good ones before they are gone. I am sure that TMP has their reasons. If you want to get me hot ask me about access to Allagash Waterway! (Not a local subject)
I have a goal of getting to 500 this weekend so I need to move along but if there are some that I need to get to I'll adjust the route.
