How Many Do You Have? (caches within 100 miles)

When I started caching almost 5 years ago there were less than 500 caches in a 100 miles radius of Leipsic. Now there are 6665 caches.

When I started in 2001, there was 1 in Toledo!
There were maybe 5 in 50 mile radius!
Even in a 100 mile radius, there were not too many more!

As of this post I have only found 192 of the 5860 within 100 miles!!

Hey, I have only 5922 within 100 miles. And I thought Yogi lived out in the sticks!

Then again, a lot of that area is in Lake Erie...

In case you don't know how to find out this info, click on your "My Account" in GC, then click on "Search for nearest caches from my home coordinates" on the right side. This is assuming that you have already entered your home coordinates into your GC profile.

(You can also use the geocode function and search by Address at the top of the "Hide & Seek a Cache", although it will not be as accurate.)

If you use the first method above, next add "&dist=100" to the end of the URL address to make it search for only 100 miles.

For either method, next add "&f=1" to the end of the URL address to make it do the same search and filter out your finds.

The difference of course is how many you have found in 100 miles.

Don't fret Cheech. If you shift your home coordinates 82 miles SW, so that your 100 ft radius is not in Lake Erie, then there are 7454 caches in your radius!

(The coordinate shift was based on the projection of a line that was 100 miles from your approximate closest distance to Lake Erie.)

Found 54 of 7186 active within 100mile radius, down here in Kansas. My guess is alot of the finds have been archived.

I thought of you the other day, and when Un"guarded" came up missing, instead of archiving it, I went up and replaced it.
