I knew that the Mope, err, Mopp, er Moop Along Smile used a pair of Mechanix gloves when he caches. I was thinking of getting a pair of non-bulky, lightweight gloves so while I was in Menards I was checking out Mechanix gloves and I spotted these babies:

Glove Light Details

The picture at the website doesn't do them justice. Basically it's a pair of gloves that has an on/off switch and battery compartment on the back of your hand and the LED light sits at the bottom joint of your index finger. There's a light on each glove.

While wearing them you cannot feel any wires or any extra weight, they feel like just plain gloves. Plus they have washable electronics so you can dig in the snow for that elusive cache or wear them in the rain. They are really cool and I can't wait to night cache with them.

The website says they are 26.95 but I got them today at Menards on Airport Hwy for 12.95....excellent deal.

You must be a real sight with flashlights on your gloves, a headlamp, and your flashing sneaker soles. Don't cache near an airport, you might cause an accident.

I notice the flashlight batteries shut off after 7 minutes. That'll never do with my caching technique...

I've seen the Mechanix gloves before and may get a pair because since I lost one of my light weight caching gloves on Sunday

I tested them out on two caches during my dinner break. Aside from getting used to the small flashlight sticking out from your hand they work great, I love 'em. Smile

I swung by Lowe's last night to see if htey had the glove lights, but no luck. They had Mechanix gloves, but none with lights.

So I'll swing by Menard's this weekend to get a pair.
