Merging Geocaching and Waypointing coming up....

I wonder if that will mean a return in some form of Reverse/Locationless caches! I know at least Grizz and I had fun with them, had some friendly competition and we learned a lot in the process too.

Just ask me where all the gargoyles and Statue of Liberties are in the area!

This would be a big reverse of policy, and an embarrassing one. They made such a big deal of trashing the virtuals as regular caches and setting up a separate website. They got a lot of flack for it, so we'll see if they have the balls to admit they were wrong.

If they do it, I hope they change some things as I don't want every McDonalds marked. I was like Grizz and Gizmo and drove around with a list of things I needed to find running around in my brain every time I was on a trip. I never did get that 2001Space Odyssey thing. I still have a file full of virtual cache pictures.

This was actually made known at geobash last year, if I remember correctly. I believe that it's part of that whole whereigo initiative.

I think there is some confusion here. Jeremy is talking about a redesign of the geocaching and waymarking sites to make them more integrated.

WhereIgo is yet another Groundspeak project. It's not meant to be a replacement to either geocaching or waymarking or a merger of them, it something totally separate.

It'll be nice to see closer integration between the different Groundspeak sites, the less pages to visit the better.
